In the last days of his presidency, Donald Trump issued dozens of pardons. Among these pardons were hip-hop artists Lil Wayne and Kodak Black.

Lil Wayne, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a loaded firearm while traveling to Miami in December, 2020. Due to a previous gun charge in 2007, Carter was looking at 10 years in prison.

Kodak Black, born Bill Kahan Kapri, pleaded guilty to a firearms possession charge after being detained at the Canadian-American border this past March. He was sentenced to 3 years and 10 months in prison.

Trump also pardoned other individuals that have shown support to the president over the past few years, including Death Row Records’ Michael "Harry-O" Harris and his former campaign manager, Steve Bannon.
