Artist Spotlight

Since breaking onto the alt-rock scene with their breakout single “Favorite Liar” in 2016, The Wrecks have built a reputation for doing things their own way. The Los Angeles-based band first turned heads after recording their debut EP, We Are The Wrecks, in a stranger's home studio over the course of a single weekend while the owner was away on vacation. Since then, their DIY mentality, tongue-in-cheek personality, electrifying live shows, and sharp songwriting have helped them amass more than 400 million global streams and earn a devoted fanbase.

This Friday, The Wrecks return with “Hangin Out,” a feel-good summer anthem that was nearly a decade in the making. The song was first dreamed up eight years ago when frontman Nick Anderson was relaxing in a hammock by a lake with guitarist Aaron Kelley, improvising lyrics and melodies on the spot. That spontaneous moment was captured on video, and now, years later, it’s finally become a finished track.

The result is everything fans have come to love from The Wrecks: infectious hooks, witty lyricism, and a nostalgic reminder to slow down and appreciate the people around you. As the second single from their upcoming album Outside, “Hangin’ Out” captures the carefree feeling of long summer days, close friendships, and living in the moment.

Be sure to check out “Hangin’ Out” when it drops this Friday, and if you’re looking for another live show to add to your summer lineup, make sure to catch them on tour. Tickets here: https://www.wearethewrecks.com/
