Artist Spotlight

Originally from Chicago and now based in Los Angeles, Sultan Dè brings together alternative textures, R&B-rooted production, and cinematic storytelling on his latest EP, Lend Me Your Ears.

The project is deeply personal, born from a period of uncertainty after Sultan Dè graduated and unexpectedly found himself unemployed. With music as the one constant he could rely on, he began writing what would become a project shaped by faith, love, fear, and perseverance. Across the EP, he reflects on the people and experiences that shape us and the loved ones we sometimes lose while chasing our dreams.

The title Lend Me Your Ears takes inspiration from Shakespeare’s famous phrase, but for Sultan Dè it carries a more personal meaning. Growing up in a Nigerian household, it was something his mother would say when she wanted him to stop, listen, and think before doing something.

Closing out the six-track EP is “Do You Think Of Me,” an emotionally vulnerable track that serves as the project’s anchor and final reflection. Built around themes of memory, lingering connection, and emotional processing after personal turmoil, the song leaves listeners with a question that feels both intimate and universal: As the EP’s closing statement, the track leaves listeners sitting with the emotions and questions that have unfolded throughout the project.

With heavy vocals, heavy alternative sonics, and emotionally charged lyricism, Lend Me Your Ears invites listeners into Sultan Dè’s world and asks them to truly pay attention. It’s a story about navigating new beginnings, finding strength in community, and trusting that what you’re looking for can exist on the other side of uncertainty.
