Artist Spotlight: Sabrina Lee
Korean-American pop artist and songwriter Sabrina Lee is entering a new chapter with her debut EP, Dopamine. Originally from Leesburg, Virginia, Sabrina has written and recorded music since her teens, teaching herself the trade along the way.
She was introduced to music at home. Sabrina’s dad played in a Christian band throughout high school and college, leaving guitars and microphones around the house. One day, she found his custom Gibson Les Paul in a storage closet and spent hours teaching herself to play. That moment sparked a love for music that has continued to shape her artistry ever since.
Now a recent university graduate, Sabrina brings years of self-taught experience into Dopamine, a cohesive body of work centered around the uncertainty and growing pains of your early 20s. Across the EP, she explores love, loss, heartbreak, friendship, identity, nostalgia, self-discovery, and the search for meaning while figuring out who you are and who you’re becoming.
The project blends heartfelt strings that nod to Sabrina’s Virginia roots with electronic and pop production. Much of the EP features Sabrina’s own production, alongside collaborations with Diamond and multi-platform producers Alex Tanas of MAGIC! and Taydex, whose credits include Kanye West and Joji.
While Dopamine may have started in Sabrina’s bedroom studio, its story stretches far beyond it. Written and produced everywhere from lecture halls to airport bars, the EP captures a specific moment in Sabrina's life as she grew into both the person and artist she is today.
Her work has already earned recognition from Lyrical Lemonade, Ones to Watch, EARMILK, and A1234, with playlist support from New Music Friday, Lorem, Fresh Finds, and others. Now Sabrina is bringing all of these experiences together on Dopamine, her debut album and a snapshot of the person and artist she has become.
