Artist Spotlight: Machinedrum

Artist Spotlight

For over two decades, Machinedrum has built one of electronic music’s most versatile catalogs, moving between hip-hop, footwork, jungle, and UK bass while maintaining a signature sound rooted in intricate percussion.

From early releases like Now You Know to projects like Room(s) and Vapor City, Travis Stewart has consistently expanded his range. His work spans solo releases, collaborations, and production for artists like Tinashe, A$AP Ferg, and Freddie Gibbs, along with scoring for titles like Grand Theft Auto V and NBA 2K22.

His latest EP, BL00MS, marks a shift back to a fully instrumental approach. Across five tracks, he leans into dubstep, UK garage, jungle, and melodic techno, focusing purely on rhythm and structure after years of vocal-driven releases.

The project also marks the relaunch of his label IAMSIAM, returning to an independent model after a 13-year run with Ninja Tune.

BL00MS centers on control, both sonically and independently, as Stewart opens a new chapter on his own terms.
