Igwe Aka is a Nigerian-born, Sacramento-based artist, who brings a unique and exciting sound to the alternative hip-hop scene. He was first introduced to rap by his older brothers, but it wasn’t until his family moved to the U.S. that he pursued a music career. His mother sacrificed a lot to move his family to the U.S., which has inspired Igwe Aka to never give up on his dreams as an artist. Igwe Aka recently dropped his album, “BEFORE THE REIGN.” He wrote most of the album during his recent visit to his family in Nigeria. He describes the 7-track album as a “poetry project” of self-expression, each song providing a better understanding of what makes him the person he is today.
