Artist Spotlight: E. Lundquist
Born and raised in Los Angeles, E. Lundquist draws inspiration from the city’s rich musical history and melting pot of cultures, sounds, and perspectives. Growing up surrounded by LA’s diverse creative energy shaped his musical taste from an early age, leading him to explore everything from underground and ‘90s hip hop to soul, funk, jazz, and '70s soul.
His approach to music is deeply rooted in craftsmanship. Inspired by watching his father work as a tile contractor, E. Lundquist brings the same patience and attention to detail into his songwriting and production, building each track piece by piece until it comes into its own world. His sound is soulful and groove-driven, blending keys, synths, piano, and Rhodes with elements of soul, R&B, hip hop, and modern grooves.
At the heart of his music is a desire to create something immersive and human. With warmth, emotion, and a cinematic quality, E. Lundquist's songs invite listeners to worlds built from his own experiences and influences.
His latest release, “Let Me Down Easy,” is the second single from his forthcoming third album, Chasing My Reflections, and features Taylor Williams. The track came together naturally when Williams was originally brought in to sing on another album track and immediately connected with its classic soul feel. Built around warm production and smooth, melodic vocals, “Let Me Down Easy” showcases Lundquist’s shift from his earlier instrumental work toward a more vocal-led sound, blending modern soul, alternative R&B, and jazz-leaning influences.
“Let Me Down Easy” marks another step toward Chasing My Reflections, an ambitious project that represents a new chapter in Lundquist’s evolving sound. With more singles on the way and the album arriving in 2026, E. Lundquist continues to create music that bridges his deep-rooted influences with a distinctly modern perspective.
