Artist Spotlight: Adrian Milanio
Growing up in Tacoma, WA, Filipino-American artist Adrian Milanio was surrounded by music
from the ballads of the ’70s and ’80s his dad loved, to piano lessons, jazz band, and choir. But it was a standing ovation at a summer camp talent show that lit the spark. “It was the first time I felt like anything I did mattered,” he recalls. That night, he promised himself he’d become an artist.
Since then, Adrian has stayed true to that promise. With four albums to his name — including his latest, Me & You — his music blends timeless soul and modern textures, drawing inspiration from Lucky Daye, John Mayer, and Bruno Mars. Known for his “ear candy” details and heartfelt lyricism, Adrian creates music for the soulmates, the dreamers, and anyone holding out for love.
Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 17, he found music to be a powerful healer and now approaches his art with a servant’s heart writing to uplift, connect, and make people feel seen. Beyond music, he’s in his second year teaching “Content Creation” as a college professor and recently performed at Amazon Corporate, sharing his experience as a Filipino-American artist.
For Adrian, it all comes back to authenticity: “We’re in an era where storytelling and connection matter more than anything else.” And with Me & You streaming everywhere, he’s just getting started.
